Fall Art Show Reminder

Our Fall 2018 Show is Fast Approaching!

Just to remind you all, in order to participate in the show you MUST be a current LHAA member.  Per LSAG rules, we will need to update our database to reflect current members only.

If you have not renewed your membership yet for the 2018 – 2019 calendar year, please do so no later than this Friday, October 19th and be sure that the treasurer has your renewal by then.  The database will be updated on Saturday, October 20th.
If you would like to enter the show, please get your entries in ASAP!  The final deadline for show entries is midnight, Wednesday, October 24th.
Hope to see you there!

Back in the Library

Our Artwork is on Display at the Kingwood Public Library Again!

At the request of the library, our society has brought some of our art pieces to display on their wall once again.  A notable addition is the wall of student art, contributed by some of our new student members.  Thank you, kids!

On Wednesday, June 27 at 4:00 p.m. the Kingwood Public Library will hold its official grand opening.  The Lake Houston Area Artists are invited to attend as their guests.  All of our members are welcome to attend, whether you have art hanging here or not.

Lets come help celebrate the return of our library!

Library Art Hanging

All Member Artists:

If you have art that you would like to hang at the Kingwood Public Library on Monday, June 18, at 9:00 a.m., please let us know.  It helps us to know how many pieces to expect, so we can plan appropriately.

If you will be joining us for the art hanging event, please send a message to Lynda Feierabend at:

We are recommending a maximum of two pieces of art per artist.  Hope to see you on Monday!

Kingwood Public Library

Kingwood Public Library is Back!

Not only is the library ready to come back, but they are very eager to have our art on their wall again!  On Monday, June 18 at 9:00 a.m. we are invited to bring pieces of art to the library to hang on their wall.  Any member who has volunteered to help us out is welcome to bring a piece of art (make sure it’s ready to hang) for display.  If you help us on the 18th with the hanging, that counts!

Of course it’s summer, and many of us are away on vacation or involved with summer activities, but let’s see how many works of art we can bring in to decorate the library.

And please mark your calendar for the library’s Grand Opening on Wednesday, June 27, at 4:00 p.m.  We are invited to attend!

A Letter to Our Members

Dear Members,

The Lake Houston Area Artists is so appreciative of your volunteering and your interest in our society.  Without you we would not have a club to learn, to educate and to support our community with art scholarships for the Lone Star Art College students.  We have worked and continue to work to get talented artists to demonstrate their art for you each month.  Because we want to have the best club in the Lone Star Art Guild we want to hear from you so that we can keep moving forward in a positive and productive way.

We want to hear from you and listen to what you most want in an art society (To sell your art? To learn from other artists? To connect socially and professionally with other artists?).  Any ideas you might have to attract students and more members into our club are always welcome.  Since the flood we have lost many of our members and we are in the process of rebuilding.  We need volunteers, as greeters and as helpers on our different committees, to make all of this possible.  Let us hear from you before our May 15 meeting.  We are gearing up to have an even more exciting club, starting in September, and we need your help.  Please send your responses to the email address below.

Thanks so much,

Lynda Feierabend, LHAA Community Art Relations
