The Mission of the Lake Houston Area Artists is to encourage artistic development of local professional and amateur artists and cultivate an appreciation of the visual arts through education, exhibition and community outreach.
Lake Houston Area Artists is organized and operated for education, pleasure, recreation, and other nonprofit purposes; no part of the net earnings of which inures to the benefit of any private shareholder or individual.
Typically, each meeting begins with a short business discussion, followed by a demonstration by an artist in a specific medium. After the demonstration, the meeting concludes with our Artwork Show and Tell. Many of our meetings offer group participation so you can learn different techniques.
Our December meeting departs from our standard format above. The December meeting is a festive holiday dinner at a local restaurant where we award a scholarship to a Lone Star College Student.
LHAA sponsors two local judged art shows each year, one in the fall and one in the spring. All LHAA members are encouraged to participate in our shows. Participation in the show is limited to our members and other LSAG members. Information and entry forms are available online and at our monthly meetings. Winners from our show (1st, 2nd, 3rd and honorable mention) are eligible to enter the annual LSAG show.
Public Viewing Exposure
LHAA members who volunteer their time will have the opportunity to have their artwork selected to hang in our scheduled hangings at the Kingwood Library and/or Café du Bois at the discretion of our Community Art Display Chairs.
LSAG Membership and Shows
