Our General Meeting for February Will Be On Tuesday, February 16, 2021 at 6:30 p.m.
During these Zoom meetings, we have spent the first half hour allowing time for everyone to join the meeting, check their microphone and camera, and chat. We would like you also, if you desire, to share with us what you have been doing with your art, your recent projects, and news about your work with us, as we would have done at one of our in-person meetings. We all miss having the opportunity to visit with each other as we used to. Our regular meeting will start at 7:00 p.m., with the demo shortly afterward.
When you receive your link to the Zoom meeting, feel free to try it out ahead of time, to make sure you can sign in. No one will be there yet, of course, but you will be able to make sure your camera and microphone are working properly. Also, if you would like to receive text messages to remind you about the meeting, let us know by sending you mobile phone number to our email, lakehoustonart@gmail.com.
February Demo Artist – Andrea Patton – Alcohol Inks

“I want my art to be something you feel, you experience, you desire. I get lost in the moment when I paint. When I create something new and original it is a beautiful feeling. My greatest hope is that you experience this as well”
Andrea Patton started drawing when she was 8 years old. She painted acrylic murals in Texas in 1995 and then began exploring watercolors and alcohol inks. She took many painting lessons in Alaska and Texas. She has traveled all over the US, Canada, Ireland and Italy to find inspiration for her art. The beauty
of Alaska inspired her beyond her wildest dreams and she visits as often as possible. Her artwork has been auctioned at United Way Events and the Anchorage Go Red for Women for heart disease and stroke. She gives private alcohol ink art lessons in her studio in Houston, Texas; online classes and travels to give group lessons.
Andrea’s art is owned by collectors all over the US and Canada. She shows in several galleries in Alaska and Texas. In 2018 she won “Artist of the Year” for her Nuthatch painting “Into the Storm”. She was also named “NARA Paper Artist of the Month” in September 2020.
