Happy New Year to All!
Art Changeout at Kingwood Public Library
We will be changing the art hanging at Kingwood Public Library on Monday, January 27, 2020 at 10:30 a.m.
If you have art hanging at the library, be prepared to take it home with you. If you have helped us as a volunteer during the season you may bring some new pieces to hang. Remember, your art must be ready to hang, with picture wire – NOT the toothed hangers. Our art display occupies one whole wall on the second floor of the library, and we rotate the pieces every 3-4 months. Anyone interested in buying the art they see can contact the artist using the information on the label each of us fills out when we hang our work.

Demo Artist for January is Sylvia Trybek – Still Life
Sylvia Trybek is an award-winning artist specializing in representational painting including still lifes, landscapes, and figurative works. Working alla prima from life models and subjects is her preferred form of self-expression. She composes her still life arrangements using props she is emotionally attached to or involved with in her daily activities.
She paints the essence of what she feels and sees. Strong composition, lively colors, and emphasis on solid drawing form a foundation of her painting, teaching style and philosophy. As an artist and a teacher, Trybek believes in strict adherence to the highest standards of quality, excellence, and integrity.
Trybek received Master of Fine Arts Degree from the University of Houston, Texas. Her teachers include William Anzalone, David Leffel, Howard Terpning, and Master Lim Eow.
