January General Meeting

The Prez Sez

Happy New Year!! I hope everyone had a fabulous holiday season. The beginning of a new year is always a time for looking at our priorities. As artists, one of those is creating our next masterpiece. So for this new year look at trying something new – a new medium or a new technique with an old favorite. So many mediums – so little time!! You could find a new favorite. The Scholarship Dinner was wonderful. The young artist we awarded was excited and we were impressed with his talent. Thanks again to all the Board members who worked so hard to make it such a successful and enjoyable evening.

 December Scholarship Dinner

Congratulations to Hunter Story, our scholarship recipient for 2015, and best wishes for his future art career!  Many thanks to Krissy Richardson for all the wonderful photos she took for us at the Scholarship Dinner!

Elliott unique style features an imaginative use of texture and color that makes his concepts exceptionally lifelike. He currently teaches acrylic fundamentals and mixed media painting in group and private lessons, workshops and at Jerry’s Artarama in Houston.

Library Art Changeout

Our next Kingwood Public Library art changeout will be:

Monday, January 25 at 10:30 a.m.

Anyone who has art currently hanging should come prepared to take your work home.

Any members who have work that you would like to hang on the library wall should bring it in!

Your work should be ready to hang, and you should be prepared to create a label for it with such information as the title of the work, framed dimensions, your name and contact information, and price.

If you have helped us as a volunteer this season you are eligible to bring samples of your work to be displayed at the library for viewing by (and sale to) the public.  Helping to take down the previous art pieces and to hang the new ones counts as volunteering!  Volunteers – the library will be closed at that time, so be sure to use the back door.

Don’t Forget!

Our Spring Art Show will be on April 23 at Kingwood Christian Church.  Details to follow.
