Demos/Workshop Coordinators

We set up the LHAA General Meeting Calendar with a Demo Artist for each month.  We contact the artists, send the featured artist bio to website and publicity coordinators prior to meetings, send friendly reminders to the artist one month ahead of their demo, send thank you’s after the demos.  Keep treasurer informed of payment for each demo.  Each year try to have a variety of artists skilled in various media, as well as realism vs abstract, etc.  We assist the artist before and after each meeting with their loading and unloading of equipment, as well as arrange set up for room such as tables, screens, projectors, tarps, etc.  We arrange “paint outs” during the year.

When enough members voice an interest in a certain topic, we coordinate workshops.

Facility Chair

Research and Negotiations to secure a meeting place for the coming year. Assist the Demos/Workshop Coordinators and arrange for any special items or equipment needed for the upcoming General Meeting.

Scholarship Chair

In October the chairman names a committee to assist in selecting a winner of the Paul McCarty Scholarship. Contact the person in the Fine Art Department of the Lone Star College at Kingwood. They will distribute scholarship applications which are on file at the college.

In Early December the scholarship committee meets to view student applications and sample work. A winner is selected and the scholarship is awarded at the December General Meeting.

These positions are board positions. Board members are encouraged to attend our Monthly Board Meetings, currently held on the second Tuesday of each month.
