LHAA Group Art Project

YOU ARE INVITED TO MAKE A “MINI-MASTERPIECE” WITH LHAA

A fun new group art project is in the works at LHAA!! It is one that we hope will benefit our LHAA Scholarship fund, give us newspaper publicity and increase foot traffic at our upcoming Spring Art Show and Competition. So please join your fellow artists as we get our creative juices flowing!

HERE IS THE PLAN…..

Each of our artists interested in participating will use one new canvas, Sized 6” x 6” x 1.5”. Our theme for this project is “Seasons-Spring and Summer”. Each artist can express this in their own way, so the canvases will all be different.

For publicity purposes these will be aligned in the graphic pattern of a very large mosaic- it should be a treat for the eyes!!! . (We hope the newspaper will think so too and give us good coverage! ) These will be on sale at the Art Show and Competition in April. The target price for each canvas will be $30.00. 50% of this amount will go to the Scholarship Fund, and 50% will go to the artist.

HOW TO GET STARTED

  1. Purchase canvas 6”x6”x 1.5.” Please note that this is gallery wrap. Be sure the depth is 1.5”.
  2. Choose a design of your choice that remind you of spring and summer seasons. So many possibilities. Just a few ideas are… flowers, trees, fruits and vegetables, decorative pots, colorful garden tools, birds, birdhouses, insects, gardens, seascapes, etc, etc, etc.
  3. Use any medium of your choice.
  4. Prepare a card and tape it to the backside of the canvas. List your name, painting title, and medium.

DEADLINES

Please bring your finished canvas to the Kingwood Library on Tuesday, March 31 at 10:30 am. Go upstairs where the LHAA painting change out will be going on . ( We hope to get as many canvases as possible and photograph the mosaic display that day.)

If you are unable to drop off your canvas on March 31, or could not get it done on time, please bring your canvas to the Art Show and Competition and it will be added to the display.
